last week's break, or if you're too busy trying to hide from the cold =

then it's time to get a shuffle on and get out there and dance!  And =

don't forget to bring along your friends, workmates (or strangers off =

the street are also welcome!) because there's no better way to beat the =

winter blues than to dance them away!!

Beginners Lindy Hop (8 count):/ 6.45pm - 7.45pm, $40 for 5 week set (or =

$30 with student ID)/
Intermediate Lindy Hop:/ 7.45pm - 8.30pm, $40 for 5 week set (or $30 =

with student ID)/
Advanced Lindy Hop:/ 8.30pm - 9.15pm, invite only/.

We were so impressed with the show our students provided dancing the Big =

Apple for Big Band Fest that we've decided to give you another chance to =

strut your stuff in public... our next major event is the SPEAKEASY =

DANCE on Oct 12th, to be held at the Great Hall in the Arts Centre.  We =

would like to hold a choreographed charleston jam during the evening, =

and you are all invited to be a part of it!!  Similar deal as last time =

- just $50 for an 8 week set to learn a routine and get it up to =

performance standard.  Absolutely no experience or partner is required =

(and in case you're wondering charleston is easier than the Big Apple) =

so we expect to see all you beginners there as well!!  The classes will =

start next Tuesday 19th August so drop us a line to register or sign up =

in class this week.

A dedicated charm school, workshops with Australian guest teachers, a =

dance competition, and best dressed... if you havn't booked your flights =

yet you'd better get a move on because this fabulous weekend is =

approaching fast!  This was a great weekend last year and this year will =

can talk to Tom or Amanda in class about joining the southern contingent =

in 2008.

*AFRICAN DANCE CLASSES - Friday 15th & Saturday 16th August*
Ra will be returning to Christchurch this weekend to take another round =

of workshops... those of you who attended last time will know just how =

much fun these are!!  These are a great way to gain an appreciation of =

lindy hop roots, while also getting a decent work-out. =

Workshop 1: Friday 15th August, 7.30pm, Centennial Hall, cnr Sparks and =

Lyttleton Roads, Spreydon
Workshop 2: Saturday 16th August, 12pm, Riccarton Community Centre, 199 =

Clarence St
$20 for one class or $30 for both.
